THE MAKING OF A WEDDING AT HUDSON HOUSE
What an extraordinary production it was! Allow me to recount the remarkable events of the day. The setting of Hudson House in Jersey City provided a picturesque backdrop for my clients' wedding, marking my inaugural collaboration with this relatively new venue at that time – a decision I was certain to relish.
As dawn broke on the wedding day, I found myself commencing my tasks at 6:30 am, comfortably lodged in a Hoboken suite to eliminate the need for a morning commute. Initial preparations unfolded smoothly, beginning with the outdoor setup for the ceremony; ensuring the stage and aisle runner were perfectly arranged under the sun's benevolent gaze.

Upon arrival at the venue by 6:45 am, I encountered the still-closed premises, a stark contrast to my clamoring need for coffee, compounded by the oversight of leaving my trusty sneakers in my assistant's car from the prior evening – cue the dress boots debacle, a deviation from my usual styling etiquette that sparked a moment of frustration, albeit with a touch of humor.
The ensuing moments unraveled in a whirlwind of activity, navigating stairwells, elevators, and the transition from outdoor to indoor, orchestrating a bustling team that demanded both leadership and collaboration; recognizing that the burden of responsibility invariably falls upon the planner to navigate challenges with poise and efficacy.
The climactic touch of adding trees to select tables a mere week before the event underscored my commitment to a lush, opulent design destined to awe our clients and their esteemed guests – a vision translated into reality with the unwavering dedication of each vendor, culminating in a harmonious symphony of talent and effort that left me immensely proud and grateful for the cohesive team effort.
